The event was organized with a view to give a platform to MAIT students to interact with their seniors who have made big in corporate.
The event started at 3.00 PM. Saraswati vandana was played in online mode to pay tributes to the Goddess of knowledge mother Saraswati. This was followed by brief address by the Head of the Department, IT Prof. (Dr.) M.L. Sharma. Prof. Sharma welcomed the two speakers who were also alumni of MAIT. He informed the audience that Dr. N K Garg, Founder and Chief Advisor, MATES could not attend the event due to his prior commitments. Prof. (Dr.) Neelam Sharma, Director, MAIT and Prof. (Dr.) S S Deswal, Dean Acads, MAIT also could not make it to the event. They all conveyed their best wishes to the speakers and the organizers.
After the address by the HoD, Dr. K C Tripathi, convener of the event was invited to coordinate the technical sessions and the questions and answers round. The sessions were organized as a talk show rather than speeches. The speakers interacted with the students impromptu.
Mr Rajan Parmar informed the audience, specially his journey to reach the current destination. He gave three important mantras to the students- that the best time to prepare is ‘now’, that there should be no fear in the minds of being unsuccessful and that there is no short cut to success. He shared his experiences at Google and also that at the organizations he had worked with earlier. He emphasised the need to work on the data structures and algorithms for competitive examinations and placements.
Mr Rahul Garg shared his views on the subject and informed the audience about the need of finding good internships. He stressed that there should be no dream company but only dream skills. Mr Rahul shared his experiences at Google. He shared the joys of undergraduate days at MAIT and informed the students that college days are the best days.
Both the speakers expressed their gratitude to MAIT faculty, staff and administration for shaping up their career.
After the brief talks by the invited speakers the questions and answers round followed. The questions were taken on the spot by the audience. Students had also begun posting questions to the convener of the event, Dr K C Tripathi, a day in advance. The speakers were gracious enough to take up all the queries which ran into dozens.
Vote of thanks was given by Mr Bhaskar Kapoor who also coordinated the event. Ms Nidhi Sengar and Ms Vasudha Bahl took care of technical issues. The session ended with thanks to the Head of the IT Department. A total of 162 participants attended the event.
