The International KDE conference is an international forum for the technological advances and research results in the fields of Computer Science and Information Technology. The conference will bring together leading researchers, engineers and scientists in the domain of interest from around  the world. 

On Friday, 17th January, 2020, Three day International Conference of KDE India 2020 was inaugurated in IT Department by Prof.(Dr.) Neelam Sharma, Director, Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology, Rohini, Delhi. Prof. Sharma addressed the gathering and explained the utility of this kind of International Conference. She also made aware of latest technologies to the audience with her very rich experience of more than 35 years. Inauguration was witnessed by Prof.(Dr.) S S Deswal, Dean(Academics), Prof.(Dr.) M L  Sharma, HOD(IT), Prof.(Dr.) Namita Gupta, HOD(CSE), Prof.(Dr.) S K Mathur, HOD(ECE), Prof.(Dr.) V N Mathur, HOD(MAE), Dr. Amit Gupta, HOD(MBA).

KDE India Conference 2020 was successfully organized in Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology, Delhi. This conference is a 3-day event that talks about Libre, Open Source Software and how software is developed using C++ and the Qt Framework. Abbreviated as “conf.kde.in”, the conference was held from Jan 17-19, 2020. This three-day conference was conducted in 8th block, IT Department. Staff members of the IT department also marked their presence.

KDE is an international free software community developing free and open-source software with a focus on Linux distribution. As a central development hub, it provides tools and resources that allows collaborative work on developing software. conf.kde.in started in 2011 at RVCE, Bangalore as a 5-day event with 300 participants which kicked off a series of KDE events in India and this year MAIT got the opportunity to conduct this conference on our campus. Attendees from different backgrounds came to meet each other, give talks, and share in the spirit of KDE.

The conference was studded by the great line-up of national as well as international speakers. The speakers included Adriaan de Groot(Netherlands), Arjen Hiemstra(Netherlands), Bhushan Shah(Gujarat) from Bluesystems GmbH,Kannan V M(Kerala) from Alpha Fork Technologies, Wrishiraj Kaushik(Assam) from Libresoft, Shantanu Tushar(Karnataka) from SoStronk, Akhil K Gangadharan(Kerala) from KDE, Anupam Basak(West Bengal) from Nitrux, SubinSiby(Kerala) from Swathanthra Malayalam Computing, Akshay Kumar(Punjab) from KDE along with various national attendees from all corners of India like Kerala, Gujarat, Punjab, Karnataka.
Along with them, our college students also joined in as speakers which were Rituka Patwal, Piyush Aggarwal and Kunal Kushwaha who gave talks on their respective projects and introduced students to different ways to work on KDE software.

Hands-on workshops were also organized on C++, Qt and QML which gave attendees a good start on how to start their journey with C++ and Qt Framework. Refreshments were provided to all present for the conference on all 3 days. The event was completely managed by a team of 20 volunteers who worked diligently and with complete discipline to make this event a marvellous success. The conference was organized by our students under the supervision of the international KDE Community  and MAIT.

All the participants and faculty members are thankful to Head of I.T. Department, MAIT and the college management for their cooperation in conducting this conference.
