Industrial Visit by I.T. Department at ITTM, MTNL Delhi

The industrial visit is considered one of the most tactical methods of teaching. It provides students with an opportunity to learn practically through interaction, working methods and employment practices. Moreover, it gives exposure to the useful information related to the practical aspects of the educational course. After the concrete efforts of Prof.(Dr.)M.L.Sharma, HOD (IT)  the students of B.Tech(IT), MAIT got this esteemed opportunity to have an Industrial visit to a prestigious Institute ITTM (MTNL), Shadipur, New Delhi on Wednesday,22^nd January 2020.The purpose of this technical industrial visit was to make students aware of MTNL and its processes covering various Telecom Technologies.

As the field exposure at MTNL is unique since no other Company can match the Infrastructure of MTNL. At present, MTNL has about 65 latest technology Digital switches spread all over Delhi.

The students of B.Tech(IT) 4^th Semester participated in this industrial educational visit. Mr. Rakesh Sharma, Training Head introduced about MTNL and its operations. First session was delivered by Miss Rajni Rohila. She explained about the hardware infrastructure like Transmission Network and Equipments. Second session was delivered by Mr. Rajesh and he covered concepts related to computer networks and covered concepts related to Router and IP addressing. Students got the opportunity to understand the latest in Telecom Technology & IT like Transmission, Switching, GSM, 3G, 4G, 5G, Broadband, IT and get exposure to Digital switches, Transmission Network & Equipment, the latest State-of-the-art NGN switch, GSM, MSCs, Intelligent Network switches, Broadband NOC & MPLS and IP networking.On behalf of all management and students we take this opportunity to thank the entire team of ITTM, Shadipur, New Delhi for providing us with the practical information and for explaining the technical aspects.

Er Vinay Saini, Assistant Professor and Er.Saurabh Gautam, Assistant Professor were the main coordinators of this industrial visit.The students of B.Tech(IT) 4^th Semester are  indeed grateful  and appreciate the efforts of Prof. (Dr.) Neelam Sharma, Director, MAIT, Sh. Rajnish  Gupta, Secretary, MATES, Prof.(Dr.) M. L. Goyal, Vice-Chairman, MATES, Dr Nand Kishore Garg, Founder Chairman, MATES and  the whole management.
